Status: Casual, part time / Independent Contractor

We are in Corner Brook Newfoundland and Labrador is looking to hire a Physician for in-clinic medical assessments, primarily: employment medicals, independent medical assessments, and other specialized medicals such as Seafarer’s, Aviation, CAPP and more.  
As part of the interdisciplinary team, the Physician shall use evidence and measurement-based care to perform the following:

• Complete a thorough assessment of presenting eligible health problems;
   • Perform medication review and identify drug therapy problems; 
   • Clarify relevant medical issues including comorbid conditions;
   • Clarify diagnosis and prognosis related to eligible health problems; 
   • Identify conditions that are not related to the eligible health conditions that if left unaddressed can hinder progress in rehabilitation;
   • Identify relevant accommodations or medical restrictions;
   • Identify and provide rationale when additional specialized assessments are required to enable achievement of rehabilitation goals; 
   • Care may be provided in-person or virtual;
   • Engage in time-bound targeted follow up care through a consultative model with our clients;
• Participate in de-brief discussions with the interdisciplinary team, when necessary.

Requirements: 

• Doctor of Medicine and valid license to practice in respective field in province/territory as applicable, and member in good standing with provincial regulatory body.
• Experience in the management of complex medical conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with military culture and Canadian Veterans is an asset
• Bilingual (French / English) is an asset
• Experience working with a variety of health professionals and disciplines in an interdisciplinary team environment is an asset
• Experience and knowledge working with AMI Guide to Easeback 6th edition is an asset
