Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/modify/repair aircraft and related components in accordance with company and Transport Canada Regulations;
  • Prepare aircraft for maintenance, repair, and/or modification.  
  • Aircraft Management including: assisting with tug and towing procedure, aircraft defueling, and jacking up and down the aircraft.  
  • Carry out and coordinate the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all aircraft and aircraft components including heavy maintenance;  
  • Co-ordinate parts and ensure sufficient tools and equipment are made available to accomplish the maintenance and inspection functions;  
  • Other duties as assigned based on role specifications.   

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Required: Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed or have equivalent experience such as FAA Training; or equivalent
  • Required: Aircraft Maintenance License with a minimum of 5 years of experience
    • Individuals who have relevant experience and/or have completed an ICS course will also be considered
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, the international language of aviation.
  • Experience in line maintenance or heavy maintenance operations would be considered an asset;
  • Experience on the following aircraft is preferred: 
    • Dash 8-100/200/300 and/or Dash 8-400 
    • ATR-42 or ATR-72 
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Troubleshooting skills;
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, decision-making, organization and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations is considered an asset;
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts and adapt to fluctuations in shift times due to operational and/or unforeseen situations.
  • Type Course Certification is considered an asset
    • The standard we strive for is that Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at PAL are Type-Certified on Company Aircraft. For all qualified employees who are not already Type Course Certified, we will arrange training and cover all expenses to get you certified.
