Assistant Maintenance Manager

Summary of Role

Globex Management has a culture that inspires our RITE values; Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Entrepreneurship. Equipped with the RITE attitude the Assistant Manager of Maintenance will provide direct support to the maintenance associates and manager on all day to day hotel maintenance operations. The Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring We treat ‘customers’ as guests in our own homes, fostering an environment where everyone is accountable for creating memorable guest experiences that drive loyalty and ensure 100% guest satisfaction. Impact & Influence on Guests, Associates and Business

• Provide ongoing leadership, direction, training and recognition to associates
• Assist in maintaining building equipment and systems in accordance with established preventative/predictive maintenance programs/schedules
• Perform minor repairs including wallpaper, painting, wood work, plumbing and electrical
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment
• Pool maintenance, including-repairs, where required
• Assist with administrative duties; schedules, payroll, performance journal updates, etc.
• Assist in establishing, implementing, and monitoring standards of service and operation
• Control labour costs when possible by effective shift management
• Maintain grounds including snow removal where required
• Assist/conduct performance appraisals and performance management as necessary 
• Assist with implementing strategies to achieve departmental goals and financial profitability
• Responsible for the smooth operation of the department  in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
• Identify and resolve guest concerns/complaints to their satisfaction
• Understand and  ensure compliance of all Health and Safety procedures, regulations and laws such as labels on cleaning products, correct ergonomics and ensuring protective equipment is worn when necessary
• Ensure communication and compliance of Maintenance’s responsibilities in the event of an emergency situation as outlined in Hotel’s Emergency Response Booklet to ensure guest and associate safety
• All other duties as assigned

 Education, Experience, and Skills

• Maintenance experience or equivalent experience in a related position
• Demonstrated Leadership/Supervisory experience, preferably in the maintenance of buildings
• Must be able to use most power tools
• Must hold valid driver’s license with no restrictions where required by Hotel
• Pool Operator’s Certificate, First Aid/CPR an asset
