Lead and support a diverse team in the operation and maintenance of the hotel on a day-to-day basis, including general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen maintenance, locksmithing, carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
Liaise with the rooms division and food & beverage as well as other related departments to coordinate guest services and resolve emerging issues promptly to exceed guest expectations.
Contribute to and manage an extensive preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems to facilitate the building to remain in pristine condition.
Liaise with all departments to ensure the execution of planned and scheduled programs, including preventative maintenance and repairs scheduled for public and private areas.
Train, coach, and counsel maintenance team, assign work and maintain a work history.
General repairs to rooms and room amenities, grounds keeping, maintenance and repair of our HVAC system.
Pool maintenance and water quality testing.
Recruit, interview and hire new employees as needed.
Monitor and maintain the hotel's energy, utility management and hotels mechanical systems.
Be available on an 'on-call' basis during off hours for emergency situations.
Requirements:
A 'hands-on' individual knowledgeable in various facets of property maintenance.
Engineering Degree/Diploma or Related Discipline preferred.
Knowledgeable in all regulations such as building codes, fire and health department requirements, etc.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong level of initiative required.
Highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible and to work well under pressure.
Strong technical abilities with MS programs & familiarization with computerized maintenance systems an asset.
Leads by example by displaying a high standard of performance with the ability to communicate these expectations to the team to achieve results.
Must be highly safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment throughout the hotel.
Must be available to respond on call for emergency request.
